Guidelines for Institution Head - Director of the Hospitals

The SLMC Internship Digital Evaluation System enables Institution Head - Director of the Hospitals to manage intern assignments, update internship information, monitor evaluations, and complete required hospital-level actions through an online platform.

Institution Head - Director of the Hospitals play an important role in ensuring that the internship details of Intern Medical Officers are correctly maintained within the system.

Access to the System

If you are a Institution Head - Director of the Hospital, SLMC will provide your username and password to the email address registered with the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

Please use the credentials provided by SLMC to access the system.

If you have not received your credentials or experience a login issue, please contact the SLMC IT Support Team.

What You Can Do Through the System

As a Institution Head - Director of the Hospital, you can:

  1. View Intern Medical Officers assigned to your hospital.
  2. Review intern information and internship details.
  3. Assign Intern Medical Officers to the relevant Speciality / Unit.
  4. Assign Intern Medical Officers to relevant Supervisory Consultants.
  5. Update relevant internship assignment information.
  6. Monitor the progress of internship evaluations.
  7. Monitor pending evaluations and required actions.
  8. Review internship completion-related information.
  9. Complete and submit required hospital-level approvals to the SLMC Internship Unit.
Assigning Intern Medical Officers

Institution Head - Director of the Hospitals are responsible for ensuring that the relevant internship details are updated in the system.

For the 1st Six-Month Internship, the Institution Head - Director of the Hospital can update the relevant Supervisory Consultant, Speciality, and Unit details during the applicable period.

After the 1st Six-Month Internship, the Institution Head - Director of the Hospital can assign the Intern Medical Officer for the 2nd Six-Month Internship and update the relevant details.

Please ensure that the information entered is accurate and relates to the correct Intern Medical Officer.

Continue Evaluation Process
Important Notice
  • The Institution Head - Director of the Hospital is responsible for maintaining accurate hospital-level internship assignment information within the system.
  • Please ensure that the correct Intern Medical Officer, Speciality / Unit, and Supervisory Consultant are assigned.
  • Do not share your username or password with another person

Monitoring Evaluations

Institution Head - Director of the Hospitals can monitor the evaluation activities of Intern Medical Officers assigned to their hospital.

Please regularly check the system for:

  • Pending evaluations.
  • Intern assignment details.
  • Supervisor assignments.
  • Required hospital-level actions.
  • Internship completion-related information.

Where necessary, please take appropriate action to ensure that required evaluations and assignments are completed within the relevant period.
